Tips for Pronouncing Pinyin Vowlels

When ¡°j¡±£¬¡°q¡±£¬¡°x¡± are put before ¡°¨¹¡± or a vowel beginning with ¡°¨¹¡±£¬the two dots are dropped. Example: j¨´ zi (¾ä×Ó) r¨¦n q¨²n (ÈËȺ) xu¨¦ x¨ª (ѧϰ)

As a habit of pronunciation in Chinese, the ¡°er¡± sound can follow vowels to form retroflex final and when thus used, the retroflex final is represented by the letter ¡°r¡± added to the end of the vowels. Example: hu¨¡ + er = hu¨¡r; n¨¤ + er = n¨¤r
